On Tuesday 4th April ATEED hosted their monthly "Business after 5" event in our Jackson Auditorium, with more than 50 students hosting tours for local business leaders of our technology, hospitality and engineering facilities, while Business students pitched their products, with entertainment from the Jazz Band.

Services Academy helped set up and break down the venue, and braved terrible weather to welcome guests outside as they arrived, sheltering them with umbrellas and escorting them to and from the carpark. Later in the evening they did a great drill display.

Some of the comments we received from those business people who attended:

'...gave me great pleasure to see the outstanding results that your students are achieving and the team that you have at Waitakere I am very impressed.
The Values and attitude Begin from the top and they are being reflected by the Students and their achievements.'

'A great BA5 night showcasing WC the other night. Even in the rain, it did not dampen the enthusiasm and what was an all round great event! Jane, Antonia, Dan and I are still talking about how great the whole night was and how brilliant it was to have the band, the tour, the students serving, industry groups show-casing their designs etc'

'I was delighted to learn of the business projects being undertaken by students, and the professionalism and courtesy displayed by the student tour guides and food assistants was very impressive.
The Academy, Gateway, and Trades Training tours were jaw-dropping, and as a parent of a child approaching High School, I am pleased to report that Waitakere College now features as a high priority possibility for our family. Your students did you proud last night – well done to you and your staff.'
