Waitakere College gives a huge congratulation to Keegan Pitcher for winning two bronze medals in the men’s 400m and 800m race respectively at the World Para Games in London. He also ranked the seventh in men’s 200m race.

Pitcher has focused on his athletic career after his graduation from Waitakere College, while he trains to be a P.E teacher. This is his first time competing against other para-athletes in an international event.

With strength and determination, Pitcher unleashed his power to reel in three athletes ahead of him in the 400m race. He won a bronze medal in a personal best and New Zealand record time of 55.23 sec. He also crossed the finish line third in the 800m race with time of 2min 13.48sec.

Both New Zealand athletics and Waitakere College are very proud of him.

Well done to Keegan.
