We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic teacher (preferably primary trained) to work in the Inclusion Support Centre with students who have a variety of learning needs aged between 12 and 21. We seek a positive, collaborative, empathetic and flexible teacher with leadership skills. You will be leading three teacher aides in a class of ORS funded students. Students in this class engage in learning programmes in the ISC and also study some mainstream subjects. The ISC is an integral part of Waitakere College. We pride ourselves on the excellent service we provide our special needs students. This position would commence in 2019.

Teacher Aide - ESOL - Term 1 and term 2  2019

Waitakere College is a successful, co-educational New Zealand Secondary School located in Henderson in the heart of West Auckland.

We are seeking an experienced qualified Teacher Aide for our ESOL department. Previous experience in similar work within a school is preferred.

Reporting to the Head of Department, the successful applicant for the above position will have a strong focus on the school’s philosophy of academic achievement.

Ideally you will be a fluent speaker of Japanese.

This is a fixed term position for Term 1 and Term 2 in 2019 covering for a staff member on maternity leave.  The position offers 30 hours per week, the hours of work will be 8.50am to 3.05pm week days (School Term-time only).

  • Highly organised and good ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
