2019 Waitakere Teacher aide Programme

Waitakere Improving School Attendance Programme is continuing their “Return to the Workforce” programme for parents who currently receive the Sole Parent Support benefit. They are able to employ 12 Teacher Aides to work 20 hours per week over 26 weeks, in one of the following schools: Flanshaw Road School; Fruitvale Primary; Henderson Intermediate; Rangeview Intermediate; Te Atatu Intermediate; Tirimoana Primary, Waitakere College; and Western Heights Primary
The work is during normal school hours and they are holding information mornings on the 7th & 8th February.

Fitness Industry Training Tutor

Teacher /Tutor for Fitness Industry Training 0.2 Term 2, Thursdays 8am - 4pm (FTC) Waitakere College - We seek a person to work with a class of Year 12 students in an out-of-school fitness gym facility for one day per week during Term 2. Also available is block course delivery up to 10 days across Term 1 and Term 2 school holidays (negotiable). The Tutor will be delivering a well-resourced course based around Skills Active modules (use of cardiovascular equipment, machine weights, free weights, stretching, nutrition). Teacher (Director) of Service Academy (Armed Forces)

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced leader of our Services Academy.  This academy is run in conjunction with the MoE and YDU preparing young men and women for New Zealand Defence pathways.

The Role of Director works with core co-ed groups of students in Year 13, Year 12 and Year 10 programmes preparing student pathways for each school leaver in the senior years. The role also works in collaboration with the Vocational Pathways Dept to ensure NCEA Standards are delivered and marked.

The successful candidate will have military or services experience, and will have worked with young people/school students.

As part of the learning journey, you will be expected to take part in our school’s Professional Learning programme and support our Poutama and Restorative Practice programmes.  Other initiatives may include involvement or an active role in our extensive extra-curricular activities on offer at the college.
