Students keen on netball now have the chance to be part of our netball Academy, under the guidance of Coach Mrs Roxanne Forman. The academy consists of an extra netball specific training session per week with fitness and technical/skill based focus. All girls from all year levels are welcome to attend.

Criteria for selection

  • Positions have been restricted to Yr 9, 10 and 11 students; those selected must maintain an sound academic programme and achievement
  • Excellent attendance
  • Must play for a Waitakere College netball team.
  • This is an exciting venture for Waitakere College in utilising the strengths of our staff to build up the skills and talents of our students.

Netball academy runs Mondays before school - 7:10am start sharp.

Mrs Roxanne Forman

Roxanne Foreman is a teacher of Physical Education and Health. She has got a degree in Bachelor of sport recreation and majored in effective coaching. She also has her level one coaching certificate and her senior netball umpiring badge. She has coached the AUT club netball teams for 5 years and other school premier teams on the North Shore before moving to Waitakere College. She has played in representative netball team’s right through the age groups until Under 21’s. She has played in the Super 12 elite competition, future force team and 3 years in the Northern Netball NPC team. Roxanne is the teacher in charge of netball at Waitakere College and has been since 2011.
