The Adventures on Year 10 Camp

After a long wait due to our old friend covid, 15 Staff and 120 Year 10 students were able to head to Flaxmill Bay in Cooks Beach, Coromandel for the annual Year 10 Camp.  The week-long camp gave our students the chance to visit and take part in some of the great locations and activities the Coromandel has to offer such as Cathedral Cove, Hot Water Beach and Banana Boating in Whitianga.

The students and staff also experienced the joys of camping such as sleeping in tents (most of which stayed dry), early morning exercise wake-ups and most importantly no technology allowed. Team challenges such as raft building, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and camp pride were just a few more of the highlights of the action packed week.

Four of our ISC students also attended camp, these wonderful young ladies from the ISC have been anticipating the Year 10 Camp for most of 2022. They have worked hard during their PE sessions to build up their fitness to prepare for their hike to Cathedral Cove which they all accomplished during camp.  They have all been having a wonderful time and we thank all the staff who have supported them this week. Our students returned tired but with many happy memories banked in their hearts.

It was great to see students building new relationships with their peers and staff alike whilst enjoying NZ's fabulous backyard. A special thanks to our camp organiser and leader Miss Tai Tin and all the staff involved in making our Year 10 camp a success.
