Waitākere College is centred around learning and personal development through building positive relationships. While technology can aid learning, it is crucial to strike a balance that ensures the best learning possible and meaningful positive connections with peers and teachers. Where it has always been in our guidelines to put Headphones, Earbuds/Earpods and Phones away during lessons, we have noticed an increase of these distractions. It is now a school wide direction for students to put away their Headphones, Earbuds/Earpods and Phones into their bags for their lessons so we can ensure the best possible student engagement, concentration and focus for their learning.
 
To support us with this; please discuss with your child the importance of putting these items away during lessons. As normal process, please do not call or text your child during lesson times and if you need to contact them urgently call the Student Centre on 8367890 extension 872.
