Waitākere College

Senior Prize Giving

Waitākere college's senior academic prizegiving was held on 31 October. This was a hugely successful event where academic success was acknowledged and celebrated by students, staff, and whānau.

Guest speaker Waitākere College alumni Dr Tamasailau Suaalii-Sauni spoke powerfully about her story and how the support she received from her teachers at Waitākere College set her on the path to being an Associate Professor of Criminology at the University of Auckland.

The long years of service of Mr Ants Cotton and Mrs Karen Carter were acknowledged and they leave the school with the best wishes of the Waitākere College whānau.

The inaugural awarding of the Stuart Anderson Calculus Cup was presented by Stuart's family to Duong Vo.

The Proxime Accessit was awarded to Alexa Lansang.

The Dux Litterarum 2023 was awarded to Duong Vo.
The Dux Litterarum is the highest award for academic excellence in the College. The cup for this award was donated by Maurice Borich, a member of the Board of Governors and comes with the Principal’s Scholarship of $1,000 to support further study.

Congratulations to Jo Catchpole who was awarded the 2023 Staff Scholarship.
