Celebrating Success at the Achievers Celebrations

The Achievers Celebration spanned over two evenings, an unprecedented decision driven by the sheer abundance of accomplished individuals we were fortunate to honour and celebrate. The event served as a heartwarming tribute, recognising the relentless effort, unwavering dedication, and profound commitment exhibited by our students and their families.

We celebrated 470 students who achieved NCEA Levels One and Two in 2023, including 99 Merit Endorsements and 37 Excellence Endorsements.

On Wednesday, the focus centred on commemorating the outstanding NCEA achievements of our Year 13 students in 2023. The evening was enriched by the presence of our guest speaker, Matt Grey, a dynamic individual with a diverse background encompassing youth work, entrepreneurship, and various other trades. Mr Grey, an alumnus of Waitākere College, shared his inspiring journey, adding a special touch to the celebration.

Thursday's proceedings were dedicated to our Year 12 NCEA student achievers. We were privileged to welcome Ruth Malolo, a Senior Solicitor, community mentor and another proud alumna of our kura, as our guest speaker. Ruth reminded us about the importance of hard work and honouring those who have paved the way.

Both speakers, though pursuing separate paths, exemplified lives dedicated to service, leaving an indelible mark on everyone they encountered.

A heartfelt 'NGA MIHI' extends to our prefects, deans, photographers, hall crew, and teachers, whose unwavering support ensured the smooth and successful flow of the evening.

Congratulations to all our achievers and their families.
