Premier Mixed Touch Team Triumphs in Auckland Championship

On Monday night, the Premier Mixed touch team achieved an impressive win in the Auckland-wide Premier Mixed Competition.

They faced tough competition, starting with a hard-fought 7-6 victory against Howick College in the semi-final before advancing to the final against Mahurangi.

The team had an extremely successful season winning the coveted Premier Mixed grade in a dramatic final against Mahurangi College. With the score tied at 5-5 after full-time, the game entered a thrilling double drop-off scenario where both teams were down to three players on the field.

Ultimately a strike play leading to a try by team captain Leah McGrath secured the victory. Grayson Tamati, Jermayne Tamati, and Leah showed exceptional skill and composure during this critical phase.
The entire team played extremely well on the night and throughout their unbeaten season. Special mention for player of the day/final Jermayne Tamati who was outstanding on the night.

Congratulations to the entire team for their remarkable achievement, and gratitude to coaches Brearna Fearnley and Paul McGrath for their support and guidance.
