Year 12 History Trip to Auckland War Memorial Museum

Last week, during the Year 12 History trip to the Auckland War Memorial Museum, both students and staff immersed themselves in exploration. Their main focus was on sourcing information for their Research Project, delving into the intricacies of the Invasion of Parihaka and its profound impact on Aotearoa. Moreover, the visit provided them with an invaluable opportunity to delve deeper into the historical context of the Colonisation of Aotearoa, the New Zealand Wars, and the Treaty of Waitangi.

During their time at the museum, students gained insights into diverse career paths within the field of history and witnessed firsthand how history manifests in the broader global landscape. A shared highlight among the students was the captivating Volcano Experience Room as well as the delicious food at the cafe.
