Waitākere College

New Bones to the School

As our roll grows and consolidates, the College, in partnership with the Ministry of Education continues to make improvements to our physical site so that better learning experiences can occur.

In the last 5 years, we have opened and blessed 4 new classrooms, a new learning resource space, 2 new technology workshops and a new dance/drama performance classroom.

We have modified the gym weights room and modernised 4 classrooms in block A into flexible learning spaces.

This year we are modernising the Jackson Auditorium to be a better performance space and to have more capacity for the many uses it has. This will be completed by the end of term 2. The company CMG is managed by  Dave Redmond, a past pupil of the college.

Their commitment to this project is outstanding.

We have 4 new classrooms placed on the field, opening in May/June, which replaced some D Block buildings.

It is an optimistic and busy time with all these improvements ensuring better teaching and learning spaces for our staff and students.
