Waitākere College School of Business, Auckland's only specialist business school, founded by Just Water International creator Tony Falkenstein.
Out-of-zone places are available to students who live outside the Waitākere College school zone via ballot.
Waitākere College School of Business is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to excel in commerce-related fields and transition seamlessly into university studies, offering an immersive and dynamic learning environment to explore business and gain real-world experience.
This programme, tailored for future entrepreneurs or those pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce, ensures that on completion of the three UE commerce subjects (Accounting, Economics, Business Studies), students will meet University Entrance requirements. Five monetary Scholarships of up to $8000 a year are available to selected students, who also benefit from real-life business experiences through guest speakers, mentors, and organised trips.
With dedicated class time during the school day and additional specialised sessions every Tuesday afternoon from 2 pm - 5 pm, the Business School will challenge and inspire students to develop their business acumen, preparing them for future success in university and beyond.
Students will need to select two other subjects and a study period of their choice to complete their timetable. The expectation is that students will strive for their goals and be the best they can be. To be a part of this unique opportunity, please refer to the selection process and apply below.
Prerequisites: NCEA level 2, Year 12 Economics and Accounting are preferred.
The selection process comprises two parts: the first being a letter of application, and the second part is an interview process. Students will then be notified if they have been selected for the programme.
