A part-time Hospitality Academy Tutor position has become available


A great opportunity to join our team at Waitākere College and help develop and influence the next generation of young chefs! 

If this is you, we are keen to talk to you about how you can pass on your skills to start young people on the pathway to futures in the cheffing field. 

We are seeking a tutor or a registered teacher for our Hospitality Academy. This academy specialises in food preparation and cheffing skills as trade training for senior school students and works in collaboration with trade training organizations and industry. The role involves working as a Hospitality tutor with a group of Year 12 and 13 academy students.  

We are looking for a person who is trade qualified and experienced in the Hospitality field preferably with previous experience in training apprentices or tutoring and with the desire to work with young people to support them into further training in cheffing.  You will bring a high level of practical knowledge, along with a relevant professional or vocational qualification, in Cookery/Culinary Arts enabling you to be a Service IQ assessor for Level 3. A secondary teaching qualification would be preferred but is not essential.

This position is for five hours per week, Tuesdays 1:00- 6:00 pm.The successful candidate will commence work from 2 May 2 to 11 December 2023.  

The position may potentially be extended into 2024.

Remuneration will be discussed on application and will be based on previous experience
