Congratulations to Junnie Hwang, who recently represented Waitākere College at the New Zealand Concert Band Association Festival, held in Wellington.

Performing as part of the Auckland Youth Symphonic Band, Junnie took part in both ensemble and solo performances. The ensemble earned a Gold Award, and Junnie’s solo was warmly received by both the audience and adjudicators.
Junnie has also been selected for the New Zealand Youth Symphonic Winds 2026, the premier national youth ensemble for secondary wind, brass, and percussion players.
