Another Close Game in the Teachers Vs Students Competition
Last Thursday was Game 4 of the annual Teachers vs Students Sports Competition, with basketball as the featured sport. The teachers entered the match with a 3-0 lead in the series, following wins in netball, volleyball, and badminton.
From the first whistle, the students came out firing. They dominated the early stages of the game and were putting on a show for the packed crowd in the gym. The students surged to an impressive 10-point lead, looking set to claim their first win of the series. But as the game progressed, the teachers’ experience and composure began to shine through. Slowly, they chipped away at the deficit, registering crucial points and forcing turnovers.
In the final 10 seconds, Mr Stevens (Health & PE teacher) sank a clutch two-pointer to seal the win for the teachers, with the match finishing 26–25.
A huge thank you to all the students and teachers who participated and supported the event. The next sport to be contested in the series is table tennis, which will be played next week on Thursday in the school gym at lunchtime.
