On Tuesday, nine students from Waitākere College competed in the College Sport Auckland Road Race Championships. For many of our students, this was their first time competing in a long-distance event, and they stepped up to the challenge with courage and determination.

With many pushing beyond their comfort zones, a number of students achieved personal best times, setting a strong foundation for future long-distance running and endurance training.

Some standout moments from the day included:

• Lachlan Snook, who finished 23rd out of 82 runners in the 4km race, clocking an impressive time of 13:20.
• Our Intermediate Boys team placed 8th overall in the 3-person team competition — a fantastic team effort!
