Dear Parents and Caregivers
Full strike by the NZ Post Primary Teachers' Association (NZPPTA) on Wednesday, 20th August 2025.
The NZ Post Primary Teachers' Association (the union) has informed our board that member teachers at our school will be taking full strike action on Wednesday, 20th August.
The board has carefully considered the availability of non-union teaching staff. Unfortunately, the board has decided that because we cannot provide normal instruction, nor guarantee the supervision of all students, the school will officially be closed for instruction on Wednesday, 20th August.
If making alternative arrangements for care is difficult, we can still supervise a small number of students if required. If your year 9 or 10 child is to attend school on Wednesday they must be in uniform, have their own lunch, as there will be no lunches provided and the canteen will not be open and have self directed activities they can do while under supervision at school.
We know that this is inconvenient for parents and students alike. Please be assured that student safety is our main concern. Thank you for your understanding.
Yours sincerely
