Last term, the ISC received an incredibly generous donation of Lego from the Kindness Collective Foundation, which has been a game changer for our Occupational and Speech Language Therapy sessions. Along with Lego for therapy use, we were also given bags of unboxed Lego, which sparked an exciting challenge across the entire centre.
In Term 3, each class was given a portion of the donated Lego and tasked with creating a concept that would bring their ideas to life. The challenge? Every member of the class had to contribute to the concept, story, and building of the final creation. Classes had 4 weeks to work together to form their designs, with creativity and collaboration at the heart of the challenge.
Last week, Mr Shanahan and Ms Fugmann took the time to judge the final submissions. They were blown away by the talent, innovation, and effort shown in each class's entry, some of which even featured music and movable parts! While all the submissions were worthy of recognition, the judges chose Room 4’s stunning depiction of Tāmaki Makaurau and its landmarks as the overall winner. Their thoughtful design and attention to detail earned them a well-deserved pizza lunch!
A huge thank you to the Kindness Collective Foundation for their generous donation of Lego, which has not only benefited our therapy programs but has also inspired so much creativity and teamwork within our classes.
