We are very fortunate to have the immunisation team visiting our school on Wednesday, 15th October. We have some year 9 students booked to receive catch-up vaccines, including HPV.
If there are any other students who require outstanding immunisations from the National Schedule, including HPV from any year level at school, please let the nurses know so they can book you in and get a consent form signed.
This is an amazing opportunity to receive this at school free of charge.
Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine is very effective in preventing infection from the nine types of HPV responsible for around 90% of the cancers caused by HPV.
Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR) Two doses of MMR will protect 99% of people against measles and rubella, and around 85% of people from mumps.
Boostrix - Tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough/pertussis. These vaccines work by causing the body's immune system to produce its own protection against three diseases in one injection.
Who shouldn't be immunised?
There are very few people who shouldn't be immunised. If your rangatahi (young person) has had a serious reaction to a vaccine in the past, you should talk to their doctor or healthcare provider before signing the consent forms.
To book in, please either
* Email [email protected]
* Call the clinic on their direct dial number 09 822 8923
* Pop in to see the nurses at the clinic in the student centre
