Industrial Action – Strike Days

Employment matters between the PPTA and the government remain unresolved, and we write to advise of further industrial action taking place next week.

Thursday, 23 October -  Full day national strike, all year levels - No School

Wednesday, 29 October - School is on, but no extracurricular activities such as classes, clubs, tutorials, etc. (Please see info below for sports games)

Wednesday, 5 November - Half-day national strike, all year levels - school finishes at 1:15 pm

Please note there will be no changes to bus services on rostered home, half-day, or national strike days. Strike action does not affect NCEA exams as these continue as normal.

We recognise that these disruptions are challenging for families and students. We encourage all students to use this time productively by revising current or previous work and completing assessments. Please encourage your child to speak with their teachers about their current topics and any plans to help mitigate the disruption to learning. Any students rostered home are encouraged to complete outstanding work, and Years 11/12/13 are strongly encouraged to continue to revise their subject materials in preparation for their NZQA exams that begin Tuesday, 4 November.

INFORMATION FROM COLLEGE SPORT AROUND SCHOOL SPORTS FIXTURES AND INDUSTRIAL ACTION

College Sport has put out information regarding sports fixtures and the possible impact of the industrial action.
The school will make a decision on any teams impacted on a case-by-case basis, depending on the availability of coaches, managers and players.

Coaches and/or the school's Sports Department will communicate this with our teams.
