A huge congratulations to our Level 3 Calculus students who proudly represented Waitākere College at CALCEX 2025 — a senior version of the well-known MATHEX competition!
This year’s CALCEX brought together 112 students making 28 teams of talented mathematicians from across Auckland. Waitākere College entered two teams of four students, showcasing our kura’s mathematical talent and teamwork.
Our competitors — Scott Christie, Marshee Alora, William Guo, Aram Habibzadeh, Farmaan Husaini, Vitaraag Joshi, Chayanin Khuwathanasenee, and Douglas Shum — volunteered their time and energy to take on this challenging event.
Both teams performed brilliantly, scoring 20 and 25 points, earning a solid mid-table finish against tough competition. Their participation, enthusiasm, and problem-solving spirit made us all proud!
Mr Marwaha supported and accompanied the teams on the night, helping them get competition-ready and cheering them on throughout the event.
To top off the evening, our students even met and received autographs from the star of Infinity+1 - an exciting highlight that made the night unforgettable.
Well done, CALCEX 2025 team! You’ve represented Waitākere College with excellence, teamwork, and mathematical flair!
