On January 21st and 22nd, we had outstanding representation from our cultural groups at this year's annual conference. This event is always an excellent way for our leaders to prepare for the Polyfest showcase in March. Our cultural group leaders from the  Sāmoan, Kapa haka, Cook Island, Filipino, Indian, and Roma groups were among more than 300 students from Auckland and Hamilton who enjoyed two days of workshops, cultural activities, talanoa, and, of course, dance. 

The conference helps our young leaders stay connected, grounded in cultural values, and well-prepared for the upcoming practices leading to Polyfest 2026. Our students represented Waitākere College with pride and respect.
