Year 10 student Josh Browne put on an impressive performance at the Auckland Quarter Midget Championships held recently at Rosebank Speedway, securing a hard-fought 2nd place overall!
The day started strong for Josh, who showed a consistent pace across his three qualifying heats. After finishing 1st in Race 1, 4th in Race 2 (after starting from 8th), and 3rd in Race 3, he emerged as the top qualifier of the day.
In the Dash to determine the starting positions for the final, Josh engaged in a thrilling two-lap, side-by-side battle for the lead. Using the outside line to find extra speed, he eventually took the win to secure pole position for the Feature race.
The final race was a nail-biter; while battling for the lead, Josh's motor overheated as he reached the finish line. Despite the mechanical heartbreak, his momentum carried him across the line to claim 2nd place. For more updates on his season, you can follow Josh Browne Racing on Facebook.
