What an incredible start to March! on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, our school hall was filled with pride, family, and a powerful sense of community as we hosted our 2025 NCEA Achievers Celebrations.
The success of our students in 2025 was so significant that again, with a third year in a row, we had to split the ceremony across two nights just to fit all of our high achievers and their whānau supporters into the hall.
The sheer volume of success this year was truly remarkable, with students being recognised across Achieved, Merit, and Excellence endorsements:
Wednesday Night: We celebrated 284 Year 13 students for their Year 12 (Level 2) achievements:
195 NCEA Level Two Achievement
54 NCEA Level Two Achievement with Merit
35 NCEA Level Two Achievement with Excellence
Thursday Night: We celebrated 278 Year 12 students for their Year 1 (Level 1) achievements:
179 NCEA Level One Achievement
82 NCEA Level One Achievement with Merit
17 NCEA Level One Achievement with Excellence
Our Head Prefects opened each evening by reflecting on the three pillars that guided our students to success:
Mātauranga: The pursuit of knowledge and excellence.
Aroha: The unwavering support from whānau and peers.
Manawanui: The persistence and grit required to reach the finish line.
On Wednesday night, we were joined by Year 13 Deans Lucy Gardyne and Kate Storer, and on Thursday, Year 12 Deans Ryan Stevens and Xanthe Webb and Deputy Principal Jacqui Passi, who took to the stage to present the awards alongside our Tumuaki, Mr Shanahan and our Scholarship 2025 Alumni students: Cheyanne, Gab, Moe and Taipua. The Dean's dedication to these year groups has been a vital part of these results.
To Our Community:
To the parents, caregivers, and families who joined us: Thank you. As our Tumuaki and Head Prefects noted, your support is the backbone of these achievements. Seeing the hall packed with smiling faces and witnessing the "Collective Excellence" of our school was a truly memorable experience. Congratulations to all our 2025 Achievers. We look forward to seeing you carry this momentum through the 2026 school year!
