As part of the Waitākere College Level 3 Sport course, students are required to run an event as one of their assessments. This year, they have decided to hold a School Fun Run/Walk Colour Day and your child has been invited to participate. This will take place on Thursday, 30th April. The students have also chosen to include a fundraising component as part of their event. This year, all funds raised will go towards enhancing our sporting resources, such as portable grandstands for spectators and outdoor volleyball equipment, such as posts and nets. These additions will support PE classes, sports teams, and the wider school community by creating more opportunities for students to participate and engage in sport.

Our School Fun Run is a sponsorship-based fundraiser where all Year 9 and 10 students, along with several senior PE/Health classes, are invited to participate. The event will take place on our fields during school hours. Leading up to the Fun Run, our students will ask people in the community for support by sponsoring them to participate.

Our goal for the fun run is to raise $20,000. This amount will make a massive difference and help to create amazing new resources for our students.
