As we transition from Term 1 into Term 2, the Building Academy is buzzing with activity. As their teacher, my greatest hope is that our students can look back and see just how much they have grown since day one. Construction is about more than just timber and nails; it’s about the reflection, persistence, and the "builder’s eye" developed along the way.
Year 12: Precision and Power
Our Year 12 cohort is nearing the finish line of their first major project: the 3-Tier Planter Box. It’s been fantastic to watch them move from being novices to confidently handling the builder’s arsenal of electric and battery-powered tools. More importantly, they are learning the art of "best practice"—understanding which tool is right for the job and learning how to identify and correct mistakes on the fly. With only two weeks left until final submission, the pressure is on to secure those well-earned credits. Keep up the focus, team!
