Eldon Roberts from the Just Life Group visited our school as a guest speaker, where we hosted him as part of our School of Business programme. Eldon is the Chief Operating Officer at Just Group, and he was able to shed light on his experience there, particularly with the Solatube brand.
His visit had a positive influence on the School of Business, as he shared valuable real-world insights that supported our learning and gave us a precise understanding of how business concepts are applied outside of the classroom.
During his presentation, Eldon explained key ideas in marketing, economics, and finance using real data and examples from the Just Life Group. He showed how marketing strategies such as branding, pricing, and identifying target markets can be used to influence consumer behaviour. He also discussed economic concepts such as supply and demand, explaining how they impact pricing, production, and profit. He shared some of his financial skills by taking us through how he analyses revenue information each month, and creates a dashboard that summarises Solatube’s financial position.
By linking these key ideas to his own business decisions, he made the concepts more relatable and easier for us to understand. His visit not only reinforced our learning but also inspired us by demonstrating how the skills we are learning can be applied in the business world.
