On Thursday, 28th May, we celebrated International Languages at Waitakere College.
Our students achieved amazing results. We competed with schools from throughout Europe, North and South America, Africa, Asia and of course Australia.

Students were presented with the certificates and prizes for helping to make us one of the top schools in New Zealand and the WORLD! 

Overall, Waitākere College placed 9th in New Zealand (from a total of 405 schools), 38th in the WORLD (1625 schools), 1st for Sāmoan in New Zealand and the WORLD (225 schools), 7th in French in NZ, and 5th in Chinese in NZ!

Our incredible students also placed: 

1st in Malay in NZ
3rd in Italian in NZ
9th in Arabic in NZ
4th in Greek in NZ
2nd in Indonesian in NZ

 A Special mention also goes out to our Elite students! We've never had 4 students reach this accomplishment! Thank you to Lin Tao, Jackie Tao and Angel Chen, who answered more than 25,000 questions each! And our TOP student who answered more than 35,000 questions, Lukas Maka, who is in the TOP 20 in the WORLD. This is an amazing accomplishment and the 1st from Waitākere College to break into the top 20!
