Watercare would like to provide an early heads‑up about major upcoming works on Swanson Road, between Sturges Road and Lincoln Road, starting from late June 2026. These works involve renewing a critical watermain that supplies water across West Auckland. 

What to expect:

Works will begin in late June, with full traffic management in place from early July (school holidays)Construction will take approximately three months, with work moving along the road in stagesSignificant traffic disruption is expected, including reduced lanes through the work areaDelays are likely, particularly during peak travel timesIf you regularly travel along Swanson Road, we strongly encourage you to: Allow extra time to get to school before 8:45 am, or consider alternative routes where possible.
