We are proud to see Term 2 going so well, with our Academies and Gateway students building skills, connections, and confidence through hands-on learning beyond the classroom. Our students are out there taking part in work placements and tertiary training.
Every Tuesday, Year 12 students complete their practical and theory work across the Building, Automotive, Engineering, and Hospitality academies. On Thursdays, the students from the building academy are working on the Fale Project with Unitec on site at school.
Students involved in Mahi-aa-Toi, Mechatronics and Health spend one day a week in a tertiary institution for their hands-on learning. A number of our partnerships with GRIP, Woolworths, Mitre 10, OASIS and McDonald's, and many more have enabled opportunities for our students to take on work experience in their field of interest. Students also gain industry NZQA credits upon successful completion of a few of these programmes.
