New All-Weather Space for the ISC Thanks to The Trusts Community Foundation

RAIN OR SHINE, students at Waitākere College’s Inclusion Support Centre (Te Whare Rangimārie) are now enjoying the outdoors in comfort, thanks to a generous grant approved by The Trusts Community Foundation (TTCF).

The grant funded 2 new Archgola shelters - high-quality arched pergola covers to span the outdoor area directly outside the Centre.

For the rangatahi who utilise the Inclusion Support Centre, outdoor spaces are vital for movement, sensory breaks, socialising, and hands-on learning. However, Auckland’s unpredictable weather often meant that heavy rain or intense summer heat kept students cooped up inside.

The new Archgola provides essential shelter from both winter downpours and harsh UV rays, turning the area into a truly versatile, year-round outdoor room.

This exciting addition was made possible through funding from The Trusts Community Foundation. By returning surplus profits back into community projects, TTCF plays an essential role in improving facilities for schools and community groups across West Auckland.

The entire Waitākere College whānau extends a heartfelt thank you to TTCF for their commitment to equity, accessibility, and inclusion in our community.
