Congratulations to Joshua Dittmar, who won a silver medal at the 96th New Zealand National Olympic Wrestling Championships during the school holidays at AUT North Campus.
Representing The Shinobi Academy, Joshua competed in the Freestyle U15 68kg category against some of the country's best young wrestlers. He recorded three victories, scoring 38 technical points and conceding just 18, on his way to an outstanding second-place finish.
His silver-medal finish is particularly significant, as the National Championships are an important event for identifying athletes for potential New Zealand team selection, putting Joshua in contention for future representative honours.
This latest achievement adds to Joshua's impressive wrestling record, which includes first place at the Auckland Secondary Schools Wrestling Championships and third place at Tournament Week while representing Waitākere College.
Joshua has made excellent progress over the past couple of years, and we look forward to seeing him continue to develop and achieve success in the sport. Ka pai, Joshua!
