Ashleigh Donaldson Heads To U20 Ultimate Frisbee World Championships

Held in Wrocław Poland, the Competition runs from the 6th - 13th August.

Ashleigh and her team of 20 women leave this Saturday for Poland to compete against 12 other Countries in the women's division of the Unders 20s Ultimate Frisbee World Championships.
In the opening game, they will play vs Italy. Players compete in 2 games per day, each game running for 100 minutes.

Ashleigh has played for 4 years now and has also played in the Philippines and was about to travel to play in Sweden when the international borders closed due to Covid. She is year 12 at Waitākere College and was picked to play for NZ when she was 13.
"When I lived in Gisborne, it was part of the PE curriculum at my intermediate school. I really enjoyed it so when I went to Lytton high school, I hunted down the coach and asked to join the team.
When we went to high school Nationals, they had the frisbee scouts there looking out for us and I was asked to join the training squad for NZ in the lead-up to being chosen for the team itself."
