On Thursday, we congratulated and introduced our 2022 Prefects to our year 12 &13 students.

It is a real privilege to have these Prefects represent the senior student body in our College. There is the expectation of Academic Achievement but also of Service to our school community. Part of their role is to help ensure Waitākere College is 'Better Than Before'.

These Prefects are involved in other aspects of Leadership and Service, including Peer Support and Academic Mentoring, which are ongoing at the College.

While only a few young leaders are selected for the role of Prefect, our year 13 students need to seek and grasp any leadership opportunities that arise: be it a sports captain, a class representative, or just stepping up when called upon.

Once again, congratulations to our 2022 Prefects. As a College, we look forward to your contribution to the school's culture. The six Head Prefects will be selected from this group and will be announced next week.
